The General Motors Lordstown, Ohio, assembly plant has seen its fair share of downtime over the past couple of months, but last Friday wasn’t a planned shutdown.

According to local news affiliate WKBN, the Lordstown assembly, which builds the 2017 Chevrolet Cruze sedan exclusively, went offline last Friday after a supplier constraint forced production to halt. What supplier and which components were in short supply were not named.

Sales of the compact Chevrolet Cruze have dwindled in comparison to the first-generation car. Inventory buildups and slow sales have led to numerous downtime instances. In fact, the plant will be idled this week for additional downtime. The weeks of September 25 and October 2 will also see the Lordstown plant go idle as well.

General Motors has made headlines for its growing inventory levels in the United States, but levels began to decrease significantly in the month of August. The automaker’s days supply level fell from 106 to 88, a substantial improvement, and one that falls in line with GM brass’ estimates to put inventories back on track this fall.
