Posted Thursday June 10, 2010 8 hours, 34 minutes ago

JANESVILLE, Wis. (WTAQ) – The head of a White House council which helps those affected by plant closings in the auto industry will be in Wisconsin Friday.

Ed Montgomery and other federal officials will visit Janesville, where General Motors ended production in 2008 – and Kenosha, where the Chrysler engine plant is about to shut down for good.

Montgomery heads the White House Council on Automotive Communities and Workers. He’ll meet with community leaders and local workers. He’ll explain how the federal government can help both areas recover.
