Second shift returning to GM Delta plant
Lansing State Journal
DELTA TWP. – General Motors Co. is bringing back the second shift at its Lansing Delta Township assembly plant.
The move, announced today, comes after first-shift workers returned to their jobs Monday after a weeklong layoff. Workers were idled because a strike at a GM supplier in India left the Detroit carmaker without parts for transmissions that go into the Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia crossovers.
GM and the United Auto Workers union said about 1,200 workers will be back at work at the Delta Township plant starting Nov. 17. Check back later for more updates.
