UAW: Even treatment of carmakers, AIG

The Obama administration needs to narrow the staggering inequities between its treatment of U.S. carmakers and its $173 billion bailout of American International Group Inc. , Bob King, a top United Auto Workers official said Wednesday. The administration is putting the auto industry through hurdles and hoops before doing anything for them, said King, the union vice president responsible for workers at Ford Motor Co. and parts makers. A Treasury Department spokesman didn’t immediately respond to a question on the matter.
