Suzuki launches first pickup truck

Suzuki’s first pickup truck — the Equator — goes on sales the fourth quarter of this year. It will be shown for the first time at the Chicago Auto Show on Feb. 6. The small truck is a version of the Nissan Frontier and will be built at Nissan’s factory in Smyrna, Tenn. The Equator will be equipped with both 4- and 6-cylinder engines. No pricing has been set.

American Suzuki Motor Corp. will stage the world debut of its first pickup truck at the 2008 Chicago auto show on Wednesday, Feb. 6.
