Nissan North America said today it will produce a midsize pickup truck for Suzuki Motor Corp. in North America.

The Suzuki-marketed truck, based on the Nissan Frontier midsize pickup, will be built at Nissan’s Smyrna, Tenn., assembly plant beginning in 2008, according to a press release.

The new truck is the latest development stemming from a 2006 deal between the automakers to develop vehicles for one another. Nissan also supplies Suzuki with the Serena minivan in Japan.
